Background Information
The total population of Jerez de la Frontera is 208.000 people. Jerez is the most populous city of the province of Cádiz.

The city centre is located in the geographic coordinates 36º 41' N, 6º 09' W. It has an extension of 1187 km2 and an average height of 56 meters over the sea.

Jerez has a Mediterranean climate with oceanic influences. Mild and wet winters, dry and warm summers.

The average annual temperature is 17,7ºC, while average summer temperature is around 24ºC. It is possible to get maximum temperatures of 38ºC under the sun August.

The average temperature in winter is 11,6ºC. It is not usual minimum temperatures under 5ºC. with an annual average of 598 l/sqm.

In average, the city presents approximately 2966 annual hours of sunlight. It exist few differences between the winter months and the summer ones. Jerez has an airport placed to approximately 13 km to the NE of the city centre. It not exist big industries in the surroundings. The major environmental problems come derived from the road traffic.
